Position Overview
We are looking to hire a technically proficient and service-driven Home Broadband Support Engineer to join our FTTH Operations team. The successful candidate will serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all on-site home broadband quality matters, ensuring optimal customer experience and technical precision during installations and support activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for all on-site home broadband technical and quality concerns.
- Vet and validate home connection activities and Access Point surveys for compliance and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement and maintain quality initiatives that enhance the customer experience.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fibre optic cables and ONTs, ensuring system integrity and performance.
- Diagnose installation issues, escalate where necessary, and perform repairs or adjustments on-site.
- Deliver excellent customer service by understanding client needs and providing tailored technical support.
- Conduct site surveys to determine Wi-Fi extender requirements and recommend optimal installation methods.
- Enforce quality control across all aspects of structured cabling, provisioning, ONT setup, and Wi-Fi surveys.
- Resolve on-site faults and ensure maintenance activities meet Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Provide on-site support for faulty ONT diagnosis, replacement, and configuration.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on installations, network performance, and fault resolutions.
- Liaise with the customer service team to troubleshoot and resolve backend connectivity issues.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in telecommunications, FTTH operations, or fibre optic technology.
- Strong technical understanding of broadband systems and FTTH networks.
- Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- FOA (Fibre Optic Association) certification or equivalent is an added advantage.
