Job Title: Archivist

Location: Marina, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Archivist to manage, preserve, and provide access to our growing collection of physical and digital records.
  • The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the long-term preservation of valuable documents and facilitating access to critical information in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire, organize, catalog, and maintain physical and digital archives.
  • Develop and implement archival policies, procedures, and classification systems.
  • Evaluate records for historical, legal, or administrative value and determine retention periods.
  • Ensure secure and efficient storage, retrieval, and disposal of records.
  • Assist internal departments and external researchers in locating and using archived materials.
  • Maintain and update digital databases and content management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and information governance standards.
  • Promote awareness and use of archival resources through training, guides, or presentations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Archival Studies, Library Science, History, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Must have completed his/her NYSC
  • Must not be older than 28 years old
  • 2+ years of experience in archiving, records management, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of archival principles, records lifecycle, and classification systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic records management systems (ERMS) and metadata standards.
  • Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
